Gabriele Renna

Born in Milan, he studies at Politecnico since 2012 where he achieves the Bachelor Degree in Industrial Product Design. In February 2016, he starts his formation for a Master Degree in Product Design for Innovation always here at PoliMi. In July 2018 he joins the open call of Polifactory to develop his degree thesis as a talent in residence.

His major interest in Design is oriented towards the experience prototyping by the application of the new digital production technologies.

His passions are the photography (both digital and analog), scale modelling and the game design.

“With Me”

In medicine, hypertension is often described as “silent killer” since is a symptomless disease who acts without any particular physical disorder and is often diagnosed only during a normal checkup.

On the long term, damages can be irreversible increasing the risks of other complications like heart problems, stroke, heart attack, renal failure and diabetes mellitus.

Most of the patients are not aware that their blood pressure levels are in danger zone until hypertension is diagnosed and many others tend to underestimate the risks connected to this pathology, even confessing that they have already been prescribed therapy, but that they rather decided to ignore it.

This strong disinterestedness behaviour toward diagnosed but not cured hypertension is due both to the low level of information over the damages that this disease can cause to the patient’s general health, both to the main symptom of this pathology, which is, not having them! Afterall, if I feel fine, why should I cure myself?

“With Me” wants to be a solution to support patients with hypertension (and heart failure), increasing their level of self-awareness in order to help them in the daily fight against the “silent killer”.
