Fashion Designer - Talent in Residence
Camilla Mattaboni is a fashion designer, born in Valtellina and Milanese by adoption. She graduated in December 2015 at the Politecnico di Milano getting the Master’s Degree in Design for the Fashion System. Camilla’s career touches different realities, working in the field of fashion accessories between Berlin and Milan. She currently works as a Junior Designer at Furla.
Project developed @ Polifactory:
“MoShoe. A system of productive and distributive innovation for the shoe industry.”
Camilla’s project was born as an attempt to demonstrate the possibility of simplifying the production process of female footwear through re-designing the product. Workflows have been carried out into the makerspaces – fablabs where small scale production is possible. Bioresin, a biodegradable composite foam (loaded with waste from other productions) has been experimented. This material was used as a basis for prototyping the shoe soles. The material, while catalyzing, switches from liquid to solid state, gaining mechanical properties suitable for a sole.
