Massimiliano Straccia

Born in Treviglio (BG) in 1993. After obtaining the qualification of geometry, Massimiliano, who has always been passionate about designing and above all producing products, enrolled in the BSc in Industrial Product Design. During his studies he has been able to gain experience in the design field, presenting his products to companies such as Arbre Magique or exhibiting them in exhibitions such as “Resetting and reshaping” at the Politecnico di Milano and “Design for Artshop and Bookshop” at MAXXI in Rome. He is currently graduating in Design & Engineering and works as a product designer at KAWE Srl.

Water Ionizer

The project developed by Massimilano concerns the realization of a portable device for the ionization of drinking water. The aim of the work is to extend the already known ionizer potential and adapt to contexts that do not allow the connection to a domestic water network such as natural areas, long journeys or simply out-of-door trips. The project was born from the analysis of a trend that has recently developed on the search for a healthy lifestyle. Now everyone is looking for the most effective way to stay in shape, experiencing various types of food regimes and practicing a lot of sports. Of all sports, outdoor physical activity is more successful because it is much more adaptable to the needs of those who practice it. Starting from the influence of pH on food and the consequences on sports results, careful research has been developed to find out whether portable ionization can be a winning move within the market, using a wider target than a single professional athlete. The product will then have the shape and size of a bottle, which will include an electronic component connected to four electrodes, which will guarantee the user the ability to drink alkaline water even outside the home environment.
