Cristina Carnevale Bonino
Interior and product designer - Talent in Residence
Cristina’s career as a designer began in 2010 with her enrollment at the Bachelor’s Degree program in Interior Design at the Politecnico di Milano. Her passion for design and her need to gain more in-depth knowledge, especially in the field of materials and production technologies, has encouraged her to enroll in the Master’s Degree in Design & Engineering, where she refined her skills in design and concept development.
Project developed @ Polifactory:
“BioPod. How digital interfaces have changed workplace. Case analysis and development of an intelligent office system.”
Cristina’s project consists of an analysis of modern work and its fast conversion to a completely digital form. The concept development is based on the study of HCI and IoT technologies and how they can be used in a modern work environment.
Conversion to a completely different work approach, meaning no longer as a “place to go” but as an “action to be done” has obviously had many psychological implications.
The application project consists in the design of a completely new type of office, able to collect user data and be able to change accordingly. In this way, tables, panels, systems for transportable work and relaxing bubbles were created, with the intention of creating an active ecosystem between the user and the environment. The prototype developed is a relaxing hub able to isolate and favor worker concentration by emitting and modifying light and transparency.
